Each year, more than 10 million children die before the age of 5 due to preventable diseases. Nearly 75% of all chronic diseases occur in low and middle income countries. Many of these diseases are either preventable or easily treatable with current technology, but a large majority of the world population still lacks access to the treatments. What are the biggest obstacles to improving access to basic healthcare and how can we overcome them? What role should non-profit organizations play? Can companies be profitable and socially responsible in this space? This panel will explore opportunities to make big strides in improving access to healthcare around the world. The panel will also present a local opportunity to improve access to healthcare for children with cancer.
